A must!
A must! The view is incredible from the castle (of the city and mountains). You can explore the site, surrounding neighborhood and enjoy a drink/meal at a lovely restaurant near the funicular entrance. A regular funicular ticket is valid for 70 minutes, but not to worry, you can buy a new return ticket for less that 2 euros at a machine inside the terminal, so take your time. The park at the top of the castle is also a good spot for a picnic (lots of trees and places to sit).PaulaPortugal

- 9.0Scored 9.0WonderfulRated wonderful· 753 reviewsA very friendly host who helped with parking and even provided a free coffee to a friend who was staying elsewhere while he waited for us to finish packing in the morning. Rooms were very well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional - generous and tasty. Whilst not in the old town itself, this property is as close as it is possible to get without being inside the walls and is a five-minute walk from the Cathedral. The San Vigilio funicular passes underneath the breakfast table.
