In all honesty, stay safe in this area.
In all honesty, stay safe in this area. We had a couple of scary situations occur that made us feel unsafe in this area so be cautions of yourself and your belongings. Stay aware of your surroundings!

Stay away! I was there with my family including kids.
Stay away! I was there with my family including kids. This is a very rough area of Athens. You do not want to expose your kids, or yourself for that matter, to this misery. Openly shooting heroin in the streets and homeless destitute souls on every corner. It is a picture of the hard reality a poor country will suffer through when getting even poorer. You will get many chances to give a small sum to the many beggars around Omonia Square, I guess every little helps. There are more tranquil areas in Athens.

Our hotel was close so it was a good centre to start walks from or catch the hop on, hop off bus from... Such a pity about all the Graffiti all around Athens.....looks terrible and dirty.....not a fan.

Omonia Square was undergoing reconstruction when we visited Athens (summer 2019), so it looked terrible because of the construction site. The last time I was in Athens (spring 1986), I remember it was a lovely square with a large fountain at the center of the roundabout.

This area is full of young migrant men who congregate in small groups. Although they didn't bother us much, it didn't feel safe, night or day. But there is a good police presence. The only nice part was the Hondos building and the restaurant at the top, which has a good views of the Acropolis and Lycabettus Hill.

At the moment Omonia Square is being completely revamped.
At the moment Omonia Square is being completely revamped. It isn't very attractive at the moment and caution is advised here, it's a crime hotspot, but there's plenty of police looking after your security.

Staff was really friendly and helpfull. Room was spacious enough for 3 people. The minimal Kitchen appliances were present. We got drinks, twice during our stay and the towels were changed accordingly. The location of the apartments is approx.10min. walk to the nearest hop-on/hop-off tourbus busstop (Omonia Square)
Central location, next to the Metro Omonia. Very friendly and helpful staff. We could check in a bit earlier without any problem. We asked for a quiet room (Omonia is noisy) - and got one. The bathroom was the best part of the room - with a funny toilet looking like a chamber pot! The breakfast was fabulous with a large selection of food. The Omonia square is just a 15 minutes walk from the more lively Monastriki area, and it is easy to take the metro to the airport (very packed, hot and takes more than an hour).
Excellent staff, breakfast and accommodation well above the price point of the hotel. Good location for omonia square and all of the hop on, hop off bus services. I must reiterate the point that the staff were absolutely superb, the lady on the evening reception shift was more like a concierge, my thanks to her.
Really nice and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable. Great hot and cold buffet selection for breakfast. A lovely way to start the day. Easy to find with a nice big sign. And close to Omonia Square and easy walk to Monastiraki Square and beyond. Lots of small grocery stores and good cafes.
The rooms are advertised as 10m2 but they are much larger than that and are a good comfortable size. We thought at least double.
This hotel is only a short walk from Omonia square and Metro station, and the area is quiet.
My room had all the basic amenities and was very clean, and the bed was comfortable too.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and they were also kind enough to hold my luggage for a few hours before check-in and also after check-out.
I definitely recommend it and would stay again in the future
A fully equipped kitchenette, a very comfortable bed, a large and comfortable shower, a well-designed and pleasant apartment, located in the Exarchia neighborhood, very close to the metro in Omonia square

Avoid Omonia square and it's surroundings at night especially if you are women. Be careful with the cabs, some of them are rude and try to make you pay crazy rates.
