Many people call for the closure of the Stalin museum.
Many people call for the closure of the Stalin museum. That would be a pity. It is the only Stalin museum left - and it is in its original state. You don't learn anything important about Stalin, but you learn something about soviet museums, and that is invaluable. Most Lenin museums have been slightly updated and Lenin has been given an almost saintly status that is divorced from reality. Stalin has been condemned and removed in all other places than Gori. It is very interesting, big and historical museum.
It is very interesting, big and historical museum. Very high level. It was my main purpose for visiting Gori and it was really interesting for me. I could also visit Stalin's train and see his childhood house from inside - You just have to ask the guide to let You in. Local older people still admire and respect Stalin a lot.
