Great for the theatre and a very nice restaurant, Ferrers where you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. Parking is available but you need to pay at the meter. A nice beach too. There is a lift up to the top of the cliff where there are some very nice gardens along The Esplanade. Great area.

The spa was great. Check out the website.

The spa was great. Check out the website. There are many first rate artists appearing there. But at the last (2023) Jazz festival, they ran out of sand witches. They seem to have a upstart chef with fancy snacks, home grown seaweed dressings or something. I am content with cheeseburger and chips, or Cumberland sausage rolls. My most important tip is - whatever you do do not book via "Booking.com". I once arrived in Venice, with a "Booking.com" - "Booking confirmed" in hand, to be told that "Booking.com" had cancelled my reservation, 2 days ago, because of a "declined credit card". I am wealthy, my credit card limit is £7,500-00. There is no way my credit card was declined. I called my credit card company (Visa), and was assured that my credit card was not declined. So, I was in Venice, with no idea where I was to spend the night. As a solo traveller, I often book a double room for single occupancy. Should a couple turn up, they can get a better rate for double occupancy. I then get bumped. Even in Venice at night, I do not know where I am going to spend the night. Another time, I drove 200 miles to an inn near Yeovil. To be told that my credit card had been declined. With a credit limit of £7,500- 00 ?. Visa again told me that my card had not been declined! And this happened a third time, leaving me with no where to stay at the last minute. "Booking.com" are liars and an embarrassment to free enterprise. Now retired, I shall be taking many holidays abroad and weekend breaks at home. None of them are going to be booked via "Booking.com". I have already submitted a report of my experiences to the Times and Telegraph travel journalists. I can only hope that they be exposed and shamed.

I was on holiday from Australia to the UK we had travelled 5 hours to Scarborough to attend the Lewis Capaldi concert and after having to check out of another hotel (as it was horrifying). I rang the Spa hotel and the staff could not have been more helpful, it was such short notice but luckily for us they had a cancellation in their superior queen room. It was raining, my sister and I walked to get to the hotel and when we arrived (soaked) the staff were so caring and ensured we were okay. We loved every minute of our two night stay - we didn't want to leave. We made full use of the spa facilities, the bedroom was amazing, my 16 year old sister said she felt like a celebrity in the pink bathroom. We ordered room service for that night and it was perfect, the food the staff, the timing everything. You made what started off to be a dissapointing weekend, absolutely amazing. 10/10 for the whole experience - Thank You :)
