We arrived very early, but despite that we were given a room by the cheerful and friendly owner. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. This is a very pleasant and quirky old hotel dating back to the Tudor period. It is in an excellent quiet situation in easy walking distance of the Abbey Gardens, Cathedral and town centre. We were in Bury St Edmunds for a concert at The Apex and the hotelier kindly gave us a map and marked out the position of the concert hall.

The apartment is set back from the main thoroughfare ( lots of interesting independent shops) and so was very quiet. Parking vouchers much appreciated and loved the huge TV.
