    Really helpful staff.

Really helpful staff. We had a person with limited mobility, and they suggested and allowed us to use their wheelchair and drove us up to the top of the castle so that we only had to deal with the cobbles coming down.

A historical Castle which was built on a mound overlooking...

A historical Castle which was built on a mound overlooking the Town and surrounding land. The Castle on 3 sides is very rocky and steep making it very difficult for enemy forces to scale. The main entrance has a moat which no longer has water in it and a draw bridge which no longer can be removed and a portcullis to prevent attack by invading forces. The Castle was used by Royalty both Scottish and English. Road to the Castle Esplanade is cobble stones and can be very unco when driving or walking up the steep hill . There is a charge to park on the Esplanade and to gain entry to the Castle. There is a discount from the admission to the Castle Via Historic Scotland membership which is well worth taking out. When visiting the Castle there is a part of the Castle which sticks out like a sore thumb a yellow building which is the Banqueting Hall. For a very long time hundreds of years the Banqueting Hall was the same colour as the rest of the Castle. In 1990’s someone came up with a plan that the Castle Banqueting Hall was originally a yellow colour when constructed and should be returned to that colour. This plan was passed and ever since the work on the Banqueting Hall was complete. The Castle does not look the same any more it’s as if the Banqueting Hall was stuck on to the rest of the Castle.

The castle is full of very interesting historical items as well as items from more recent times. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There is a little cafe on site selling a variety of hot and cold snacks. Thought the inclusion of little lego men in some of the displays a very good idea to keep children occupied looking for them and noting where they were.

Dire and not good value for money.

Dire and not good value for money. Worth paying a fiver but not fourteen quid. Only a few areas in the Castle worth visiting. Too much military rubbish on show too along with propaganda justifying killing people who disagree with you.

Amazing castle, one of our favorites in Scotland, especially if you have kids they have a whole area for them to learn, play and interact with the history of the Castle - wich is also fun for adults. the map they give at the entrance is very helpful, as it guides you so you don't miss a thing. Plus you even have actors bringing the castle alive, empersonating historical figures and interacting with visitors. The castle also offers great views over stirlingshire and Wallace Monument ahead. Make sure you have at least one hour, maybe two to learn and see everything. And dont miss the Castle Kitchens! you can also park your car outside the castle for 4£.

The apartment was spotlessly clean, had all the amenities you need for your stay, and even included breakfast items, i.e., milk, cearel, jam, eggs, etc. The location was perfect for stirling castle and the old jail house. Would highly recommend Stuart, the host who made the stay great with his reccomedatons and knowing he was quick to respond to messages.

The hostel is located in a very quiet district near the famous Stirling Castle. The room is very clean and the staff is very nice. There are numorous sockets in the room, not only the usual UK sockets, but also USB A AND C charging sockets. We had a fantastic view of the lovely houses in town. The shared kitchen is clean and well-organised.

Excellent central location just 10 minutes' walk from Stirling Castle and other attractions. The hotel was being renovated so the rooms were nicely decorated and the bathrooms were super-modern and huge. We had an evening meal and breakfast at the restaurant and both were excellent. Staff were very friendly, obliging and swiftly dealt with any issues we had.

One of the nicest hotels Iv stayed in. The room was big and bright with 2 windows and I loved the decorative touches such as the amazing headboard and the quality crockery etc and fresh milk in the fridge too . The bathroom was high quality with a rain shower and beautiful quality soaps/ shampoos etc. We had amazing views towards Stirling Castle also. The staff were fantastic, friendly and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was top quality too. I can’t wait for a return visit in the future.

Had garden room on lower ground floor, which has window view onto front garden. Room large, tastefully furnished with large modern shower in bathroom. Spotlessly clean and we were provided with free snack that were always renewed! Staff very friendly yet professional at all times. Ate in hotel restaurant both nights of our stay and enjoyed dinner from varied menu; a great place to relax after a day’s sightseeing. Easy access to city centre and an uphill climb to Stirling Castle, which is a must see! Highly recommended.
