We liked that staff and facilities. Everything was good except for the food. The breakfast buffet was good- however we did not like the dinner buffet. We were hoping for some more plain western type food. It also did not cater for my daughter's Gluten free diet. It would be good for foods to be labelled with GF signs. For Sri Lanka we thought that it was expensive. It was the same price as in Australia.

The owner is very friendly and prepared a very nice seafood dinner!! I arrived trinco at 10pm and I worry I cannot get a driver from bus station to the hostel, I texted the owner(Rangan), he is so helpful to ask me try to get a tuk tuk first, if can’t he will pick me up at the bus station.

The breakfast and dinner served were delicious and the staff was excellent! Great location — private beach to yourself.

Fantastic location right on the beach. Great rooms and decor. Staff were incredibly helpful. They made us the best crab, prawns and Sriracha Lankan curries dinner of our trip.

The staff was friendly. We couldn't use the swimming pool because of some reparations but they compensated this with a free dinner. The location was also good.

Just lovely and amazing staff who were extremely helpful in everything from a wonderful beachside dinner to a snorkelling trip to pidgin island.

we stayed three nights at ubay guest house and it was really fantastic. great location, very close to the beach, there is short cut that leads directly to the beach! food was super delicious and there is lots of bars and other restaurants close by. and now to the staff: the staff is fabulous, they are so kind and helpful. big thank you to Paul, he made it possible for us to rent a scooter from uppaveli till nuwara elyia, what a great service!

The access to pool and beach are great. Very beautiful sit down area near pool and dinning room. Very easy check i and out. Very close to Thirukoneswaram temple and Bathrakali Amman temple. 24 hour security and very safe for female travellers. Ample space for families with small children. The accommodation itself is very reasonably priced compared to the facilities. Definitely will go back again.

Absolutely one of the best guest houses I've been to since I'm in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect, few meters from the beach. Very quiet and lot of restaurants nearby. Rangan, the owner, is one of the kindest person I ever met and also a skilled chef. I really recommend to have dinner at the guest house and enjoy his cooking skills!
