I visited the 1885 with my partner for a friend's wedding in the summer. Having traveled from Berlin in the early morning we were very tired and the manager and bartender both made us feel so at home. He showed us to our lovely room right away, and gave us privacy, and all the essential details. We had mentioned we were hungry and he offered us a menu as soon as we came downstairs after a short nap and a shower. The food was excellent, a terrific steak from locally reared animals and a beautiful fillet of fish – just terrific. My partner had never visited Yorkshire before and I was excited to show her around my region, having spent a long time speaking of the friendly nature and hospitality of my home, I couldn't have been happier with the respectful, friendly, down-to-earth nature of everyone working at the 1885. What a delight, and exceptionally comfy rooms, at a crazy affordable price. If you're staying anywhere in the calder valley I would wholeheartedly recommend the 1885. P.S. great beer and an excellent all inclusive breakfast too

A 15-minute drive from Huddersfield, this traditional pub offers à la carte dining and a range of real ales. It is situated in the heart of Thustonland village, and offers free Wi-Fi. Everyone was super friendly, food was beyond amazing and huge portions also. Rooms were clean and very warm and beds are very comfortable. I'd recommend to visit 100%.

The historic Old Bridge Inn & Coffee House is located in the centre of the small market town of Holmfirth beside the River Holme. Great location near shops, walks, pubs etc. Great Restaurant on the premises (delicious breakfast included). Rooms updated and confortable

Il Woodman Inn vi accoglie nel cuore di Thunderbridge, un piccolo borgo a 6,4 km a sud di Huddersfield. Offre la connessione WiFi gratuita e un parcheggio gratuito in loco. Magnifico hotel situato in una stretta valle tra due collinette: già dall'esterno si nota una enorme cura dei particolari. Internamente è bellissimo, sia nella parte relativa al pub/ristorante, si relativamente alle camere, che sono accoglienti, pulite e silenziose. Il personale è gentilissimo, a tal punto che, essendo io rientrato tardi e avendo trovato la cucina chiusa, non hanno esitato a suggerirmi un locale alternativo dove poter cenare.

Beautiful location, amazing historical place. Lovely atmosphere and food. Lovely room with view. Private and secure.

Set in Huddersfield, 11 km from Victoria Theatre, Croppers Arms offers accommodation with a terrace, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Not a great deal to say, staff friendly and welcoming, I like the ease of access via the back staircase.
