This place is an old 3 story house, but don’t let that turn you away. The house is excellent. The breakfast is soooo tasty. Tasty fresh eggs, and great full English breakfast. Best we have had so far on our tour of England. The rooms are cozy, the king bed was the most comfortable bed we have had so far. The shower had good pressure, and was steaming hot. The towels are large, thick and fluffy. Only a 12 minute walk to the city walls, it was great to get our ‘’steps’’ in. 🙂. The owner/manager was very accomodating and friendly. We parked on-site. A bit of a squeeze, but no complaints. The room we had was a king supreme room on the top floor. It was super quiet, and we had the best sleep so far on our road trip.

Situated in Bardon Mill, The Bowes Hotel has a restaurant, bar and free WiFi. The rooms have a desk and a TV, and some rooms at the inn have a balcony. Very comfortable and clean. Staff are more than nice. Food great. Good pack lunches for our walks. One of our group is vegan and the staff went out of their way to prepare her special meals. We were given lifts to places we needed to start our walk. Definately recomend this hotel.

Breakfast was really good. The food in the restaurant was fantastic. Our room was really large, free upgrade to D'Arcy suite, ample room for us and our pet dog. Clean and spacious and everything we needed.

Excellent design tastefully restored and stripped back exposing brickwork, wood panelling and floor. Excellent bar and restaurant area. Attentive and pleasant staff, excellent customer service making for a wonderful stay.
