In the small village of Sheering, this family run Public House offers 12 en-suite bedrooms. The Cock Inn is a family run free house that has been run by the Bedford family for over 20 years. Amazing place, great people and hospitality, lovely breakfast. The personnel was very helpful, if you need to book a taxi and flexible so to stay in your room a little bit longer. We loved the vibe of this hotel. Overall, very clean and in the room you can fin everything you need, the hairdryer, iron even holy bible.

Located in Bishop Stortford town centre, The George Hotel Stansted Airport is set in a 14th-century inn, just a 10-minute drive from Stansted Airport. The city has good options for restaurants; the staff were really helpful; the room in general was really comfortable; and the bed was really good. I only spent the night at the hotel so I could get to Stansted Airport early, but it appears that it is worthwhile to spend more time there. The city is very charming.

A 600-year-old coaching inn located in the centre of St Albans, White Hart Hotel sits opposite the world-famous Cathedral and Abbey. Guests can dine in a traditional oak-panelled, candlelit... We had a house full of baggage and nothing was ever too much to help us from the staff. A very family friendly and lovely hotel/pub setting. We were helped by a lovely gentlemen and any request was met with a way he could solve our problems. The room was a very large family room with great facilities for our little kiddies. The accomodation and surrounds is your typical old school English Tudor house which was lovely and just what we need after close to 30 hours of travel. Close to the city centre by foot and an ample of food choices or other pubs on your doorstep. Parking is possible at this place too as well as breakfast. Highly recommend this place, probably a lot easier if you have less bags, unlike us.

Located in Hexton, 20 km from Knebworth House, Pine, Country chalet located in Pegsdon provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. The lady who prepared our room went above and beyond. She really took the time to make sure we felt looked after. The pub was closed for an event for a few hours and she even came down to make sure we weren't hungry and offered us to have some food made up especially. I wish I'd asked her name as it's rare to get service like that these days! Beautiful room and location too. We will certainly be staying again!
