The best inn I have ever stayed inn! It's a 1500s building and it is gorgeous and fascinating inside. So much to look at, lovingly and tastefully restored and preserved. See pics. Fantastic staff. I didn't use the pub / restaurant but it looked superb. I did have breakfast which was 10 out of 10, see pic. The location is in the heart of the historic old town, all the streets are narrow and quaint, I managed to find parking up the street, but the whole area wasn't designed for motor cars. Be aware that the many steep stairs are not suitable if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, so if that's you call them to discuss your options. See the pic of the paper they gave me to help me navigate the labyrinth! Overall the best historic property I have ever stayed in, and I have travelled a lot. Don't miss staying here!

In the small village of Sheering, this family run Public House offers 12 en-suite bedrooms. The Cock Inn is a family run free house that has been run by the Bedford family for over 20 years. Amazing place, great people and hospitality, lovely breakfast. The personnel was very helpful, if you need to book a taxi and flexible so to stay in your room a little bit longer. We loved the vibe of this hotel. Overall, very clean and in the room you can fin everything you need, the hairdryer, iron even holy bible.

We always stay at the George mainly based on its location and staff Joey on reception was extremely helpful in many ways during our stay and is a credit to the organisation

Swan Hotel ligger i pittoreska Thaxted, knappt 13 km från flygplatsen London Stansted. Small but comfortable room, modern bathroom, fast WIFI, high quality pub food. Various cooked breakfast options including vegetarian.

Kings Arms Hotel ligger i Stansted Mountfitchet, 2 minuters promenad från Stansted Mountfitchet station och 14 km från Audley End House. Really comfortable room, with incredibly friendly staff in the pub -Hannah in particular- shame we arrived so late and left so early.

What a fantastic place, decor , facilities , food all to a very high standard. Lost of history dating back to 1500s. Floor tilting which all adds to the character. Shower room excellent to a very high standard. Food in the restaurant was amazing can’t wait to visit again. Great menu. Room very quiet, overlooking the church gardens.
