A warm welcome and very helpful - exactly what we needed after a long day. The room was warm and comfortable, good shower, and excellent breakfast. And very grateful for Derek's help getting to the Crooked Spire pub nearby just in time to get dinner!

The staff here are excellent as are the locals, in fact a impromptu Happy Birthday for my wife during our stay was a highlight. The food was very good too, so yes, if you want a decent locals infused stay near Dartmoor, then choose The Anchor Inn

This is a charming property, with everything one would expect from such an Inn. I ate in the restaurant on both nights of my stay. The food was prepared on site, of excellent quality, served hot and with a smile. I couldn't fault it all on either night.
