A 15-minute drive from Huddersfield, this traditional pub offers à la carte dining and a range of real ales. It is situated in the heart of Thustonland village, and offers free Wi-Fi. All parking is on the quiet village road immediately outside the pub. We do not have a car park.

The place was just what I was looking for, a traditional English pub in a little country village. We ate breakfast and dinner both nights. The food was amazing and there was a large range of options and good value for money. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect with basic tea and coffee facilities. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. I would highly recommend a stay.

The Woodman Inn is set in the heart of Thunderbridge, a small hamlet 4 miles south of Huddersfield. It offers free WiFi and free parking on site. All breakfast, including continental and Full English is all included in our rooms rates.

We loved everything, Location was perfect and having off street parking was a relief. I wasn’t expecting what we reserved, 3 level Place. two sleeping rooms. two big bathrooms, loved steamed towel racks. the window on top floor was cracked open and I heard the beautiful birds singing all evening. Plenty of towels and love the fact that they provided shampoo and lotion and soap in all the bathrooms, enough for few days. I was hesitant when booking I was spending more then I wanted but when I got there I was shocked at what I reserved. Lovely spot across street sit and listen to water Dream come True.

All rooms at 1885 have en suite bathrooms with a shower. Each room also has a TV and tea and coffee facilities. Offering increased privacy, there is an entirely separate part of the building, accessible only to staying guests.

More than world class hospitality, it was like family. We arrived very early in the morning after an overnight flight and were greeted with a warm smile and a key to our room which had been upgraded. That was quickly followed up with a lovely breakfast and beer. The grounds and view was so beautiful. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. We slept with the window open and there was zero noise from the street... so peaceful. I will absolutely stay here for future visits to this area.

Breakfast was freshly cooked, with additional option of cereals, yogurts and toast. Plenty of tables available. Before we checked in, we had Sunday lunch with the family at the Inn. We were a group of 5 plus toddler and small dog. The food was delicious and plentiful. Although the price of £30 for 2 courses was higher than average, the quality and amount of food were excellent. We stayed in a Garden room across the road from the main restaurant / inn. The annex smelt very fresh and clean as we entered and the bed was very comfortable.

The motel is VERY accessible from the M62. A good midpoint if travelling to either Lancs or Yorks. The Nags Head next door provides excellent meals. Have stayed here often when it was a Premier Inn. The rooms are still of a good standard.

The staff were welcoming, helpful, and really knew their stuff. Our room (number 10) was just beautiful, every feature oozed quality and the whole room was immaculately clean. We dined elsewhere in the evening, so I can't attest to their dinner menu. However, the breakfast was amazing - in the quality of ingredients, their preparation, and presentation - and the friendly staff happily accommodated special additions/changes to our dishes. It's been an altogether wonderful experience. 10/10.

Superb accommodation and lovely welcoming team. Good breakfast choice and the waitress was super friendly and helpful. Dinner was of exceptional quality and service top notch. Bar was good, and busy on our Friday late afternoon. Lovely touches in the room, nice decor and very large bathroom - it was just a shame that our room (no 6) was on the front of the building and facing a very busy road so there was a fair amount of traffic noise. We would certainly stay again, just not in room 6.

The bar is warm and welcoming with a great selection of well kept crystal clear beers on tap. The menu is great and so is the food as well as being reasonably priced (unlike some other local establishments). The Innkeeper is a fantastic host and I shall return.
