Set in Stoney Middleton and with Chatsworth House reachable within 8.2 km, The Moon Inn at Stoney Middleton offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a bar. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Buxton Opera House is 22 km away and FlyDSA Arena is 26 km from the inn.

We used the Moon Inn as a base to visit Chatsworth Christmas Market and we were very pleased with our experience. The room was very comfortable, and we experienced no noise from the outside or bar itself. The rooms are accessed from several outside steps, but these are well lit and there is a handrail where necessary. The staff without exception were really helpful and friendly, in particular the ladies who served us at dinner and breakfast. The meals themselves were freshly cooked and arrived piping hot at the table. The chef is obviously one to keep as we heard no complaints from neighbouring tables about portion size, choice of menu and the actual taste of the meals people had. Breakfast is big, so much so we did not feel the need to eat again until we arrived back home at around six thirty in the evening! My wife and I would not hesitate to return here in the future.

Dinner and breakfast was very good. Room and bathroom were spacious, and comfortable. Hathersage is a lovely spot, and we particularly enjoyed our walk on the "Jane Eyre trail" (https://www.peakdistrict.gov.uk › assets › pdf_file)

The breakfast was perfection and they accommodated for my friends coeliac needs. The twin room is a little dated however the shower is excellent and the all in one body and shampoo gel is so nice! We didn’t have dinner there so can’t comment on that. Great location for walks. You can check in up until 2am if going for a wedding however obviously talk to the hotel about that if needed. Large free car park. Good value for money. Friendly staff. Dogs are allowed which is always nice to see.

We’ve stayed twice before and love this inn. Fabulous views and walks on the doorstep, cosy log fire in the bar (our preferred dining spot) and a delicious belly pork roast followed by home made crumble. Staff are friendly and our waiter recommended local Ladybower Reservoir walk which we did next day *****. . Room was spotless and comfortable .Hope to return soon.

The food was good. Staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and very hardworking doing their utmost at a very busy time. As a person on my own, they went out of their way to make me feel at home. The room was warm, spacious, and comfortable. The inn as an old building is full of character. Decor modern and attractive. Bed comfortable. Spacious modern bathroom with walk-in shower, which was hot and strong. Plenty of parking. It is right by the moors with stunning views and great walks straight from the pub.

Great location for our night away, brilliant roast dinner in the evening and full English in the morning. The hut was the most well equipped and comfortable shepherds hut we've ever stayed in!

A lovely pub/guest house full of character and nicely refurbished in a great location, views west over the peaks were especially good and you can sit outside (though not eat) at tables with this view, other outside tables closer to the building are available to eat at. I really liked the ambience of the pub and dining rooms, though we actually sat outside as it was so hot. The room itself was nice inside. Dinner was good and breakfast was even better. Attentive staff on arrival.
