Adansonia Farm is a 325ha property directly adjacent to Kafue National Park. It is an ideal stop over between Livingstone and Itezhi-Tezhi. A mere 4 hours from Livingstone and 6 hours from Lusaka. Ngoma Airstrip is less than 30min drive away. The property has a quaint farm cottage, with 2 bedrooms on the lower floor and a large loft. There is a full bathroom and a guest toilet as well as an outside shower. The kitchen is fully equipped, with gas stove, fridge/freezer and water filtration system. It is solar powered with warm water provided by a gas geyser. For winter nights, there is beautiful inside fire place, while there is an outside fire pit and braai area. The idyllic location is perfect for a family of 4, but the loft does have two three-quarter beds that can be made up for singles or combined to become a super-king. The cottage does not take any more than 6 people. Our wonderful staff, Gideon, Philemon and Clement are always on on site to assist with basic tasks such as cleaning and setting the fire.

I moved to Zambia 8 years ago with my husband. We live in Kafue National Park with our two young boys, and our dog Phoenix. I don’t live on the farm but I am available to assist wherever possible. Adansonia Farm and our little cottage has been our home-away-from-home, the ideal break away location where we spend quality time as a family. Adansonia is frequented by elephant, lion, leopard, wild dog, hyeana and many antelope species. Hippo and crocodile are found in the Nanzhila River, right next to the cottage. Pel’s Fishing Owl, African Fin-foot and the endemic Black Cheeked Love Bird are all found on the farm. Guests can choose to either take it slow or take up the many activities on offer. The cottage veranda is a wonderful location where one can wind away the day, enjoying the view, and the peace and quiet. The farm is extensive and one can walk throughout the 325ha. The diverse Mopane Veld flora filled with Baobabs and several other unique plants. will keep every botanist busy for days. For the adventurous, the staff will escort you on a mokoro canoe ride along the Nanzhila River. Nearby activities include game drives in the Park, water-based activities on Lake Itezhi-Tezhi and the Elephant Orphanage near Ngoma. It is a rural setting, where wildlife and people share space so it is not uncommon to see a cow, hear a chicken or see a local fisherman. This adds to the variety of experiences. Staff can arrange village tours to see local basketry, and to taste traditional beer and food.
