Thuhlo Lodge is uniquely situated within a secure wildlife estate. A variety of mammal species including giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, zebra, warthog and grey duiker are abound and roam free within the estate. It is a typical bushveld environment where one can safely explore the estate on foot or mountain bicycle on the many well kept single trail paths found throughout the estate or you can go for a leisurely game viewing experience on the self drive route within the estate. There are several dams and waterholes located on the estate with bird hides and fishing on a catch and release basis is permitted at one of the dams. We have a boma where you can enjoy the African night sky around the fire while having a braai/bbq and a swimming pool to keep you cool on the hot summer days.

Thuhlo Lodge is manage by the owners Jolande & Jacques. Collectively they have over 30 years experience in the tourism industry. They are both qualified nature guides who have dedicated their lives various parts of the tourism industry. They have worked on various game & nature reserves within South Africa and have lived in the Middle East and South East Asia as well. They have extensive knowledge of Southern Africa having been involved with self drive 4x4 guided safaris throughout the region. We are both passionate about Africa, conservation and tourism.

Hoedspruit is a small tourist town on the doorstep of the Kruger National park. There is a variety of restaurants and bars conveniently located within a 10 minute drive from Thuhlo lodge. We are a mere 45 minutes drive from Orpen gate. We have the Blyde river canyon and the Panorama route on our doorstep.
