I've been all up and down the coast of San Diego and I think Leucadia is the quintessential flavor of laidback beach living. But that lifestyle doesn't slow down the travel bug in me. I have luckily been able to travel all over the world and since the popularity of short-term private rental spaces, those have been my go-to choice for lodging and meeting the locals. I've become very good friends with some hosts and they've inspired me to start my own. Location! Location! Location! Leucadia is a funky, friendly beach community with a decidedly casual, laid-back vibe—even by san diego standards. It's a very sought-after neighborhood of Leucadia, a town in the city of Encinitas, with multi-million dollar homes but with a down-to-earth beach vibe and just a short walk to many unique restaurants, markets, and beautiful beaches with super surf spots. Only a 28-minute drive to downtown San Diego or a 17-minute drive to Oceanside. Walking distance to the beach and most needs. Just one block from bus routes, and a mile away from the Coaster station for access to trips all the way to Downtown San Diego and up to Oceanside.
