We had a great stay at this spot. The immediate surroundings do not look so nice but it's next to the famous Balat colored houses and only a few blocks from many cute shops, cafes, and restaurants. The room was comfortable and looked like the photos. Our host was amazing. He met us at the apartment and helped us get settled. He filled the fridge with plenty of food to have our own Turkish breakfast every morning which was delicious. And when we had trouble finding a taxi to take us to our next location, he called a friend and negotiated a reasonable fare for us. If want to stay in a unique part of Istanbul in a nice comfortable place, we highly recommend this location.

Place was good, just 10 mins commute by tram or bus to old Town, all touristy places are near by , the host was very helpful and helped us with every thing, he made sure to keep istanbul card for us so that we can have hassle free travel in the city... room were clean, big and comfortable.

The area is full of cafes, parks, boardwalks and piers for catching the ferry! Walkable and joggable, connected easily to metros and taxis. Enchanting and old school with just enough new school charms and amenities. The property itself is done up so well, with a fully stocked fridge and bathroom as you arrive, a washer, even a blow dryer! As a digital nomad these things are dreams come true. There is ac in every room, nice high water pressure and instant hot water, an internet-enabled tv, it’s just too cute. The host was perfect, always available and friendly and helped me arrange taxi transport which is crucial for me when I enter a new country.

Better place to stay in Balat! The owner was always on the call and helped us with everything. The fridge was full of local groceries we had enough for 3-4! It was so delicious!

A very cute and cozy historic stay in Balat. The house had everything you could need and they even had a stocked fridge full of drinks, snacks and Turkish breakfast, it was so kind. There was a washing machine, which was super helpful after 7 days of travel and soap available. There were even adapaters for the outlets which was so helpful. The best part was that the host was so kind and helpful in suggestions restuarants and a great hamam in the area. I would definately stay here again. Our only regret is that we didn't stay in Balat longer because there are so many cute shops and cafe in walking distance to explore.

Everything went fine and smoothly, we didnt meet the host but the contact was very quick and very responsive. The localisation is fantastic, the fridge being filled with goods is also a very nice idea - however it might be tricky if you actually book the breakfast and expect it but at the end you have ingredients in the fridge to prepare it yourself ;)
