Pierta Appartment is named after a mythological female being called »Pierta«. According to a legend, Piertas were living in their cave upon the village of Čezsoča right below Polovnik mountain. Entrance to the Pierta's cave can be well seen in the autumn, during the winter and early spring, while the trees are still without leaves. Piertas were showing around between Christmas and Holly Kings (6 January). They helped parents keep their children at home. Still nowadays, during the night, Čezsoča is really silent. Also in other parts of Europe similar beings appeared: Percht or Berchta (Germany), Befana (Italy), Tante Airie (France), Perhta (Czech Republic).

Pierta Appartment is in a village Čezsoča, 3 km from the town of Bovec. Soča valley is one of the most beautiful European valleys and is called “a valley of adrenaline”. It offers diverse sports activities like biking, canyoning, hiking, skiing, zip-lining, kayaking etc. The village has its history. It was on the front line of »the battle of Isonzo«, the biggest mountain battle in the history of humankind (between 1915 and 1918). Two of the participants from different sides were general Erich Rommel and Ernest Hemingway, who later talked about his experience in a novel »To Whom the Bell Rings?«. The details of the battle are shown on the model, next to the appartment. In the village there are two restaurants but no central facilities (shop, doctor, bank etc.). All those are available in Bovec, 3 km away.
