Due to the narrow road through the village, there are no parking facilities at the property itself, however, there is parking at the entrance to Adela, where we will be happy to meet you and assist with luggage.

Hello, we are Ian and Paulette, both semi-retired from the UK. Ian, enjoys making sc-fi films about time travel and we both like riding the motorbike and quad bike around the beautiful landscapes of where the house is located. Ian also run a retail shop selling home accessories which is located in a building in the facility of the house. We enjoy walks with our 2 dogs Jimi and Coco, within the beauty of the area and exploring the historic towns and buildings the area has to offer, and by opening up our house we hope everyone enjoys the same experience and happiness that central Portugal has to offer.

Adela is a small captivating village set high in the rural mountains of Acor, with its quaint houses packed along the narrow street through the village. Though Adela itself does not offer any commercial facilities the town of Arganel (approximately 9km) offers two supermarkets and a variety of fabulous restaurants as well as the beautiful Cascalheira river beach, with sand skimming the river banks amongst towering trees for you to enjoy your outside picnics, and if picnics are not for your there are several cafes to enjoy alfresco dining. You can take to the river, by hiring a canoe from the canoe rental shop. The small town of Gois, also offers a wonderful river beach with a river-side bar and for those who are more adventurous you can hire the services of Trans Serrano for Water Walking to explore the ravines and waterways. Nearer to home Colman (5km) has a small river beach for relaxing by the river and cooling off when the weather is heating up. There are several Unesco world heritage sites, the closest heritage site is the University of Coimbra a distance of approximately 36km.
