It was still early in the last century that my great-grandfather took his wife and five children to erect this house. They lived here, married my grandparents, and my mother grew up. Here I learned to climb trees, to distinguish seeds, to pick fireflies, and to fall asleep to the sound of cuckoos. My children also knew the joy of walking barefoot on the ground, eating on the street while the sun goes down. Groves grew, worked a pottery factory. The house grew. He had a mule, a deposit of charcoal, and later, of woods. The Casa da Avó Rosa is a house of memories but, above all, of stories. And they want to count and add every day. Ours but also the one of those who visit us. Join the village in a single space and share the benefits of tourism to preserve the local identity. After all, for each night's sleep we give part of the revenue to the parish for community development. Happy tourists, they are also happy villages!

São João da Ribeira is a small village in the municipality of Santarém, with about 800 inhabitants.
