Quail Rest cottage is located at Totara Peak Station. Totara Peak Station is a working High Country Station located on the shores of Lake Benmore approximately 22kms from the Twizel township. This Luxury accomodation is Off-the-Grid and is supported by Solar, gas and a log burner. It is about a three minute walk to the Lake. It has uninterrupted views of Aoraki Mt Cook and Lake Benmore. We are a hard working family and when time permits we enjoy exploring the South Island on horse back. At times you may see us working on the farm moving sheep or cattle with our dogs. We enjoy meeting people and look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you

Lake Benmore is popular for its recreational activities, including, swimming, water skiing, fishing. Quail Rest is approx a 50minute drive to Mt Cook Viallage, which is well worth a visit and to explore some of the treks that is on offer. We can advise the different activites that can be explored up at Mt Cook. High Country Salmon Farm is approx 20 km drive from Quail Rest, a great place to visit, enjoy lunch, coffee, and purchase Salmon. We can assist with a flight on the Red Cat Bi-Plane, they are able to take you on some scenic flights over glaciers and up to mt Cook.
