Newton Heights in Akaroa is the only modern centrally heated B & B in Akaroa. The house sits on the hill with spectacular views of the harbour, village and surrounding hills. It is a 5 min walk down to the village with boutique shops and restaurants. We offer rooms with lovely sea views and private bathrooms for our guests. King sized beds with luxurious linen, velvet duvets ensure you have a great nights sleep. Enjoy a quiet wine in our lovely outdoor area with an open fire, or sit on your own deck and soak up the peace & tranquillity. Soak in our spa and relax or head out and explore the lovely area of Banks Peninsula. In the morning be treated to a fully cooked or continental breakfast. We source fresh local and our own homegrown ingredients and cater for all dietary requirements. Akaroa is a great place to do as much or as little as you like, a lovely place to unwind and relax. Gail & Brendon welcome you to share their lovely modern architecturally designed home furnished in an eclectic way. They have had several trips to France and have collected some treasures that give the house a lovely feel. We love entertaining and enjoy having family & friends to stay. We see this as a unique opportunity for other people to enjoy our home and we look forward to sharing it with you. We both enjoy travel and exploring new countries, experiencing different food & cultures. Meeting new people from around New Zealand and around the world is something we look forward to.

Guests can take a boat trip out on the harbour, see the dolphins and birdlife, or indulge themselves at one of the local restaurants. There are lovely walks around the village or if you have a car and can explore, there is Hinewai Reserve which has spectacular walks. Akaroa Heritage Park is a 10 minute drive and is a great spot for a picnic overlooking the harbour. There are great beaches at Okains & Le Bons Bay which are approximately a 20 minute drive.
