Live like a hobbit in Marlborough’s only wine barrel cabins. The is comfy and cosy and tucked away in a quiet spot in Marlborough nestled between vineyards and olive groves. Wake up to the birdsong in our peaceful garden setting. Pour a glass of wine and enjoy watching the fantails on your deck or sit down by the stream and watch the sunset. Let your imagination run wild as you pretend you’re in hobbiton. Our picture perfect wine barrels are a 15 minute drive from Blenheim, only 10 minutes from the airport and have all you need for a comfortable stay. They have a double bed and wardrobe and comfy living area with sofa, dining table, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a toaster. There is a shared fridge to keep your wine and snacks cool. There are no cooking facilities. There is a fan and a heater for warmer and cooler nights. You have access to an indoor bathroom and shower if you prefer.

We are a couple of keen travelers who fell in love with this beautiful area and decided to stay. As keen DIYers and crafters our barrels seemed like the perfect project to build so we can share this lovely place with people from all over the world.

We are mostly surrounded by vineyards with only a few neighbours nearby. Our road is a peaceful place to stay and is a beautiful place to walk or bike in both directions, with nearby streams and a duck pond, there is little traffic and spectacular views to the Richmond Ranges. We enjoy being surrounded by lots of native birds like Fantails, Bellbirds and Silvereyes , with occasional visits from California Quails and Tui’s, Kingfishers can often be spotted along the power lines.
