This modern, self-catering house is next to a jetty in the harbour of the fishing village of Kongsfjord. It offers free Wi-Fi, cooking facilities and a washing machine. Central Berlevåg is 32 km away. Set in a traditional fisherman’s house, the 2-floor Lovisenborg Brygge features 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower. Lovisenborg – the Hagbart Hansen house – is one of three fisheries that are left in the outer quay of Kongsfjord. Lovisenborg has three remaining buildings; the manager´s residence, a warehouse and a fish cleaning shed. The manager´s residence was built in 1910 and it was used as a residential house untill the mid 50s. After that the fishery was left to decay until 2008 when we started the renovation of the manager´s residence. The renovations were finished in 2013. The manager´s residence is about 60 m2, spread on two floors. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor with 4 beds combined. Living room, bathroom and kitchen are situated on the ground floor. There is also electricity, water and internet in the manager´s residence. The kitchen has all facilities. The residence is heated by electric radiators, a woodburner in the kitchen and both the bathroom and the entrance have underfloor heating. It is also possible for one person to sleep in the living room. The manager´s residene is one of three buildings on a restored quay. Due to this there is about 200m2 of common quay area where about 40m2 of this is directly surrounding the manager´s residence itself, and this is included in
Me and my wife Turid lives in Kirkenes about 240 km from the house, we use Lovisenborg as a vacation site. We love the area, the people, the barents sea, and the mountains. We are in to skiing, sea kayaking fishing and hunting and hiking.
Lovisenborg quay is situated in the middle of the fishing village Kongsfjord in Berlevåg municipality. Kongsfjord has today about 30 inhabitants, but before the war there were over 20 active fisheries. Kongsfjord was one of the few places that weren´t burnt or bombed during the second world war. As a result of that, the fishing village has several buildings from the time before 1940. The recession came in the middle of the 1980s when there was a huge depopulation from the fishing village. In recent years it has become more popular to buy vacation homes in Kongsfjord, and the population has risen somewhat. The closest city centre you will find in Berlevåg, about 32 km north of Kongsfjord. Here you will find shops, gas station, doctor and dentist. Berlevåg also has an airport and Hurtigruta makes a stops here.
