This rural four-person holiday home is located on the edge of Holwerd and has a fantastic view of the sea wall and the Frisian farmlands. Step into this nice house and you will immediately feel at home. The house has been completely restored and has a rustic and cozy furnishings. The colours, the atmosphere of the mudflats, water, sea and sand can be found everywhere inside. The house is very suitable for a longer period of stay. There is an attractive wooden kitchen with utility room, complete with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. You reach the first floor via the special staircase, a real eye-catcher. Here you will find a small and cozy bedroom with a double bed. In the rear bedroom, with the characteristic beamed ceiling, there is the second double bed. In Smoek, the beds are also made upon arrival and towels are provided. On the side of the house there is a large sheltered terrace of approximately 40 m2, where you can enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful landscape. At the front there is a terrace with a bench, where you won't get tired of the fantastic sunsets. The view from the house of the sea wall and the farmlands is wide and unparalleled. The imposing and famous work of art 'Waiting for High Water' by Jan Ketelaar can even be seen from the house. Discover for yourself this popular photo object for walkers along the dike. To fully enjoy the peace, space and nature, you can really indulge yourself in and around this house! This house is also ideal as a base for a visit to Ameland.

Smoek is located in the Wadden area, which has been chosen as the most beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands. Here you can walk or cycle endlessly without meeting anyone, become completely one with nature and leave all the daily hassles behind. Stroll along the salt marshes or take a mudflat hike with a guide, stroll along the sea wall and return home feeling reborn. Take your time and come back to the Wadden! In Holwerd there is a compact but great supermarket for all your daily groceries. Still shopping extensively? Dokkum and Leeuwarden are nearby. You can enjoy a nice dinner at Zee an Tijd in Holwerd or in Dokkum where there are several good restaurants. A crossing to Ameland can be done by bicycle from Holiday home Smoek.
