The very hospitable hosts Alvin and Koen welcome you with open arms into their lovely home. We want you to have a great time and will do everything we can to make it happen. If you need anything, you can always ask, we are almost always at home. Alvin is a pastry chef at home, so if you want to order something delicious, you can always ask what is possible. Same for Koen, he makes all natural ingredient ointments, soaps and body oils. We have two cats, Michael and Jackson, but they are only allowed in our living room and outside. So if you are allergic to cats you do not have to worry, we can do the check-in in the room.

Your 20 m2 spacious room is situated on the 2nd floor of our house including a king-size bed, your own private bathroom, a fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and safe which fits a laptop. Wifi is free and strong. There is a flatscreen TV with access to our streaming services, and a small table with two chairs. You can request using our iron if necessary.

Gein is in the South East of Amsterdam and known for its mix of cultures. This neighbourhood is the greenest of all Amsterdam and if you like to take a stroll in nature, within 2 minutes from our home you can enter a nature reserve where wild cow graze, birds chirp and frogs croak. And people walk their dog or take a run. A little further, about 10 minutes walk, you get to the Gaasperplas. A lake where people walk around all year long and love to swim and barbecue in the summer. Your groceries you can do at Jumbo, a few minutes walk, next to the metrostation Gein. Metro 54 takes you in about 20 minutes to the city centre of Amsterdam and the last metro back leaves from there a little after midnight. It takes 5 minutes with metro 54 or 50 to get to Amsterdam Arena, better known as the Bijlmer, where you can find a big shopping area. You can really see the different cultures come together here. There is also a cinema, don't worry about the language, in the Netherlands we normally do not dub the films, but use subtitles (except some kids movies, they sometimes come in original language and dubbed). Tickets for train and multiple day tickets for domestic public transport (tram, metro, bus) can be bought at the airport or at the (metro)stations in the machines.
