Chris and Victoria have been in Nicaragua for several years. Victoria has a non-profit organization, MAYSEA Movement, in the country working with local off-grid communities. Chris is a boat captain surfing farmer, who loves gardening, digging holes, chickens, water, permaculture, and all things to live sustainable. We share our paradise with others for both long and short periods of time when we are not there.

The Agora at Playa Maderas is a privately run surf house offering two cabana's and a large casita nested in the hills of the salty jungle paradise. Listen to the sound of the ocean and jungle while enjoying your sweet little paradise. Here, we practice a bit of permaculture, growing our own veggies & herbs on site, have two loving doggies, fresh eggs from our chickens, a worm-farm for proper regenerative soil making, high-speed wifi, a cheerful caretaker for all security needs, and much more! Follow us on @projectoagora on Instagram All of our spaces feature an open style living space, open kitchens, laundry on-site available, garden, a secret river walk tot he beach, full-time security on site, cleaning weekly, and views of the jungle with the sound of the ocean. We are located a 6-minute walk from Maderas Beach. Our property is designed for those desiring their own space, be connected to nature and the ocean, and feel safe. How to get there: A 4x4 truck or moto bike would be nice to make life convenient however majority of our guests do not have transportation and either take a taxi or the shuttle from town and then walk. Upon arrival, it is best to arrange a 4x4 taxi as a regular taxi will not get up the hill. Casa Pocahontas, Playa Maderas is the closest point on Google Maps. On the main road to get there, keep taking that road straight until you get to the end of the road and you will reach our casitas. Do not turn into Casa Pocahontas, just keep going straight on the main driving road. You can ask anyone for Victoria and Chris's spot. If you contact us in advance, we will coordinate the caretaker to come meet and greet you to show you the property easily. The nearest airport is Augusto Cesar Sandino International, 133.6 km from the hostel, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. There is a shuttle nearby that leaves 3 times a day to San Juan Del Sur and returns and a food truck that comes up with vegetables nearby.

The neighborhood is a community of international people who are all willing to lend a hand to help each other out, have delicious food gatherings, and look after each other. You need 4x4 to access most areas in Playa Maderas, especially us. Walking is also very much doable.
