My riad was built on the basis of the plans that I made myself, after having analyzed many beautiful constructions of the south of Morocco, desirous that I was to bring out of the ground a unique riad, expression of the best of the Moroccan craftsmanship. The essence of the style of the riad is Berber: red color, white symbols of the tent and the protective eye for the outside, silky tadelakt on all the walls, furniture, decoration, paintings. The Arab contribution is concentrated on the soils, in terracotta from Fez. The other characteristic of the riad is ecological. Supported by concrete pillars, the walls are made of raw earth (rammed earth), the bricks of which were made with the earth extracted when the site of the swimming pool was dug. Result: in midsummer it is 10 degrees cooler indoors and in winter it is temperate. Living room fireplace with a strong draft. Solar panels to produce hot water.
