this is one of the most beautiful boutique hotels you could stay in in kyoto!!! exceeded our expectations! our room was super spacious, with a living area, private japanese garden, comfortable beds, a kitchenette... we also used the onsen which you can book for private use and it was a nice way to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast is mostly plant based (salad and vegetables) which may feel a bit strange for some people, but we absolutely loved it - especially with its locally sourced and seasonal ingredients!

1. The location. There was a bus stop near the hotel that has buses connected to a lot of the tourist attractions. Additionally, the hotel was located a few mins from the train station with a lift option so there was no need to drag my luggage up the stairs. 2. The bed was very comfortable like clouds. 3. Room was big compared to other hotels in Japan and has a traditional Japanese design 4. It was heartwarming that the host would give us a brief introduction to our hotel room and there was a welcome note with my surname written on it.

Everything was great about the hotel. The room is very clean and spacious, do note that it does not have a TV, but it wasn't an issue for me at all. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. It is very close to one of the train stations, but also Kyoto is fairly small, so you could technically walk anywhere. It is not cheap, but I would totally stay here again next time.

This hotel is an absolute gem! From the moment one arrives, and reinforced in any interaction, it is clear that the staff deeply cares about making the stay perfect. They recommended just the right restaurants to make our stay in Kyoto perfect (and also booked very special places for us) --- the Sushi and Keiseki dinners were outstanding! The breakfast was special and pushed my horizon. In general, I loved the "minimalist" concept with regard to the furniture, spa, snacks etc. -- perfect service and facilities delivered without any fuss.
