We are a British-Italian couple that in 2016 relocated to Tuscany, an area that we have visited extensively and that we now consider our home. Leaving behind several years of work in corporate business, before settling in the tiny hamlet of Vico d’Elsa, we set off with our backpacks travelling around the world that ended up in spending a long time looking for the right spot to live and run our own business. We finally found it and we are absolutely thrilled to share our knowledge and best travel experiences in the region (and all over the world) with our guests and friends. We both love travelling, cooking (and eating!), entertaining and enjoying the fine pleasures in life…and Tuscany seems to us the excellent blend of everything above! We will ensure that you won’t miss out on anything this wonderful region has to offer that make it rightly world-renowned and we will help you to discover some of the less visited corners that not so many get to see.

Villa San Michele is a 5-room Bed and Breakfast with pool set in a XVII century farmhouse, located in the peaceful hamlet of Vico d’Elsa (approx. 400 inhabitants), in Barberino Val d’Elsa, Florence Municipality. The property has a beautiful outdoor space with gorgeous views over the Val d’Elsa countryside extending up to San Gimignano. We opened the property to guests in September 2017 after having renovated and refurbished it extensively, combining modern elements with original Tuscan features. The Villa where the 5 en-suite guestrooms are located is an old stone farmhouse with many of the original features restored. The ground floor offers a large relaxing indoor lounge area with a mixture of brick and stone arches, a beautiful fireplace and an indoor breakfast area. The gardens are arranged over two levels, with plenty of seating areas (both in the sun and shaded by olive trees and cypresses). A 10×6 m swimming pool with sun-beds and umbrellas on the lower level perfectly completes the outdoor space. The upper level includes a patio with an outdoor breakfast area, perfect for the warmer months.

Villa San Michele is located in a tiny and quiet hamlet (Vico d'Elsa), 7 km from Barberino Val d'Elsa. The location is a great starting point to explore Chianti, San Gimignano, Siena, Florence and Volterra, just to name a few. In the hamlet of Vico there is 1 excellent restaurant 5 min walking distance from our BnB (which is a good option after a long day visiting and touring around!) and there are plenty more less than 10/15 minutes drive. We are more than happy to recommend our guests some of the best food in the area in some delicious local osteria! We are also very well located to explore some of the best wineries in our area, just a short drive from our BnB. Prior to their arrival, guests will receive our Information Package: over 52 pages with itineraries, day trips and suggestions to help them discover our area (including best restaurants, wineries, cooking classes, activities).
