Masseria Monacelli, a fortified farm of the sixteenth century and Masseria Giampaolo, an exclusive hamlet of the '400, are set with their watch towers in the heart of Salento. Located near the Romanesque-Byzantine Abbey of S. Maria a Cerrate, today among the assets of the Italian Environment Fund, they witness traces of history. Both hold a precious ipogeous crusher, the storage rooms of the olives and the shelter of the crusher. A place that emphasizes the importance and wealth of the entire complex over the centuries. The Tenuta offers the opportunity to taste extra virgin olive oil produced locally, on request.

The Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate is one of the most significant example of Romanesque architecture in Puglia.The abbey dates from the 12th century.
