The most beautiful sea in absolute can be found in Salento precisely in Gallipoli which offers beaches and a sea worthy of being visited. The water is clear, clean and transparent. In addition to being famous for its sea, Gallipoli is famous for its characteristic historic center full of alleys, shops selling typical Salento products and souvenirs. If you prefer rocks to the sand we can recommend Santa Maria al Bagno and Santa Caterina. In Santa Cesarea Terme there is the sulphurous pool and the sea. Another famous attraction is Otranto in all its beauty, with cathedrals, churches, castles and the wonderful sea. The bauxite quarry in Otranto is a place to visit absolutely together with the poetry cave in Melendugno, the grotta della zinzulusa and the blue grotto in Castro, the natural pool of Maria serra, the island of rabbits in Porto Cesareo, the cave of Ciolo near Gagliano del capo, at the botanical garden in Muro leccese, at the faraglione of Sant'Andrea near Lecce and so much else that this small space would not be enough.
