Our family home was one of the "First House(s)" to be ever constructed in Gangtok, Sikkim. This legacy construction has been in my family for 4 generations and counting :) It is also the "First House" ie the starting point of the Mall Road [M.G. Marg] in downtown Gangtok. Located smack in the middle of the town, you will find yourself within 2-5 mins of walking distance from chic restaurants, upscale hotels, boutique coffee shops, bars and shopping!

This property has been listed on Airbnb since 10 months now and we have been superhosts for a while! I personally love to travel all over the world and prefer to stay at private homes to sample the local flavour. This is my small attempt in bringing out the same experience by opening up my ancestral home for you to stay in and authentically experience Gangtok!

Mahatma Gandhi Marg is the main pedestrian road located in downtown Gangtok. Smack in the middle of the hill station - this location is safe, happening, chic and central ! It is preferred by families, couples and singletons alike. There is nothing you will not find in this neighbourhood - from the best restaurants to cafes and bars. All your grocery needs can also be met within 1-2 mins of walking distance. This central market also gives you ample shopping options. If you have a self-driven car, there is a paid car parking less than 100m from our house. You can get around downtown by foot, using the plush pedestrian mall road which starts right in front of our house. If you need to travel to scenic spots which are further uphill or monasteries - you can flag down a taxi from the main entry of the house itself or hire one from any of the taxi stands in town.
