Company information

Norwegian, born in 1963. Married, 2 children, 3 grandchildren. Love Greece in general, Crete in particular. My hobbies are skiing, bicycling, hiking and cooking. After traveling around the world all our life, my wife and I found this place and we fell in love immediately. The beautiful surroundings give peace to mind and the property is big enough for all our beloved children and grandchildren.

Property information

Are you looking for privacy? Villa Mathea is a beautiful, large stone built villa with a separate stone built annex/guesthouse, secluded, but close to "everything", with a large private swimming pool and even a small olive grove, all a total of 6000 square meters. The garden is maintained by a professional gardener. The estate is fenced. The two gates are electrically operated by remote controls. From the terrace there is a beautiful view over the open landscape with olive groves and in the distance you see the Mediterranean sea. From Chania Airport it is only a 8-10 minutes drive by car or taxi. It is a 5 minutes drive to Kalathas Beach, and a 10 minutes drive to Marathi Beach. Within a 5-15 minutes drive from Villa Mathea you have reached any of the beautiful sandy beaches of Akrotiri. The city of Chania is 12-14 minutes away by car or taxi. The village of Kounoupidiana with supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies, medical doctor, bakeries, banks and post office is a mere 4-5 minutes drive away.

Neighbourhood information

Akrotiri is the large circular peninsula extending northeast of the city of Chania. Among the rocky cliffs of the peninsula, there are some remarkable beaches and some important, historical and religious sites, worth visiting. The feature with most beaches on Akrotiri peninsula is that, although is located in the northern part of Crete, they aren't affected by the winds, as is the case for other beaches on the north coast. Therefore, have in mind these beaches, when you want to go to a beach where you'll definitely find a calm sea.
