Villa Asteria is a newly built solid stone Villa on the edge of a small mountainside village with amazing views across the gorge. At this beautiful location you benefit from the piece and quiet of a rural location. There are mountain and sea views from both sides of the property. The garden area with its own private heated swimming pool has many areas where you can choose to relax. The Villa accommodates up to four people, a large en-suite double bedroom with access to the swimming pool / garden area , a further bedroom with on-suite that has two twin beds with access to a ground floor patio area. On the 1st floor leads you to the Kitchen/ Dining area, this room opens up to the lounge seating area where double patio doors exit to the outside balcony area with breathtaking views all around. The garden area that houses the private swimming pool along with a small koi fishpond, with waterfalls. The Villa is a short walk to the centre of the village with a cafe neon that locals and tourists relax in. Next door to the villa are the owners who are on hand to give advice on all the best places to visit. Electric bikes are available to hire on a first come basis which have a 70km range.

My family and I fell in love with Crete many years ago. Our dreams began to come true when we purchased two villas in Melidoni in 2014. We choose to holiday let them so others could experience the beautiful area we have been so fortunate to find. In 2019 we made the move to live here and our daughter is now in school here. Since our move we have built Villa Asteria for holiday rental and completed our own house.

The village was founded some 300 years ago, it is situated 400m above sea level. There is a gorge with a natural spring which is where the village used to get their water from. The village has the best of both worlds as its quite for relaxing and getting away from the hustle and bustle but close to beaches, tavernas, shops and historic locations. Chania is only a 40 minute drive and Rethymno is simiar in time and distance.
