Triton is a mythological Greek god, the messenger of the sea. He is the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite, god and goddess of the sea respectively, and is herald for his father. He is usually represented as a merman where he has the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish, "sea-hued", his shoulders barnacled with sea-shells. Simply yet tastefully decorated Villas, belong to an island-style complex, Triton Sea View, at Kavros area. Some Villas are only on ground floor and some other extend to upper floor as well. All of the villas have fully equipped kitchens, where you can prepare your meals. The cozy living room and the dinner area in each villa makes your stay comfortable. The outdoor areas are furnished and you can relax and enjoy your days under the sun and your nights with a drink. The common swimming pools will give the coolness that you need during the hot summer days, however the beach is only some meters away. The development also offers a common BBQ area and a street parking area on the spot. Kavros village is full of life during summer, there you can find stores for shopping, spa, super markets, restaurants and cafes. Triton Sea View is located near the coastal village of Kavros, a charmingly picturesque holiday resort with all the amenities you may need. Its location is almost in the center of Crete, which makes it easy to visit all the sights on the island. In Kavros you can find all the facilities you may need, such as supermarkets, taverns, car rental, bars and much more besides. And all of this within walking distance! Furthermore, the longest sandy beach in Crete lies at your feet, offering endless opportunities for fun or relaxation. Lying only 3.5 km away from the seafront of Kavros is Crete’s only freshwater lake; the famous Lake Kournas, a magnificent natural lake with lush green surroundings, and which according to local legend is said to be bottomless. Here you can try a traditional meal in one of many water-side taverns and take advantage of the water sports available, such as the popular pedal boats, and enjoy the crystal clear waters of the lake. In about 3 km from Kavros is located the famous beach resort of Georgioupolis. Georgioupolis, once a fishermen village has now become a tourist resort with outstanding natural beauty. You should definitely walk in the streets of the old town of Rethymno, which is 300m away, where the old houses with the venetian doors and the minarets will take you on a journey through time. A plethora of restaurants, cafes and shops are waiting for you to explore them. At the edge of the old town you can visit Fortezza Castle, where you can enjoy the spectacular view. A stop to the Archeological museum and the Folklore Museum of Rethymno will complete your visit.
