Melidoni is a small, traditional and picturesque village, built at 450m height, on the foothills of the White Mountains and is inhabited since the ancient years. The village is bounded by rich herbage and centenarian trees. The landscape from the top of the village is magnificent, almost stunning with an open view from the Cretan sea to the top of the White Mountains. Here, the authentic Cretan life is always present. At the public plaza of the village the visitors can find a small traditional café (kafenion) and taste the Greek traditional coffee or local soft drinks and ice-creams Here, the visitors can talk with the local villagers and realize what a unique experience is to live in a such beautiful place of Crete. VILLA KASTANIA is built on the foothills of Madares (White Mountains of Creta) on 500m. height in a private and fenced field full of trees. Around the villa which is full equiped are four levels of yards, BBQ and a private pool , big gardens with flowers any any kind of tree that you could imagine ..Olive trees surround the villa .....all the fences and the yards are built of traditional stone.... the road leads straight ahaid to the paths that bring to the beauty of the White MOUNTAINS...... Inside the stone fences that protect our villa from anyone the travellers can walk around the gardens, take care of the flowers and the trees, taste their food or a glass of wine and relaxing near the private pool or in one of the four yards that sorround our home....

I love my village, i love the nature, the mountains and the perfume of the local herbs... Me and my husband Christos have built a beautiful and functional villa in Melidoni village with all the comfors that travellers would like to find. Our village Melidoni is an historical village hidden in the heart of the White Mountains which is a massive and beautiful mountain range full of herbs and cypress... the view from the location of our villa is unexpectable and beautiful.... the travellers who choose to book our villa will spend some days in a peaceful village , in the nature where the sky meets the mountains and the earth smells by the local herbs..

VILLA KASTANIA is built in the most quiet neighbourhood of Melidoni village.. Just a few homes are there around it.. t" s also an alley for the mountains which cradle the village..there are many ambulant paths that lead to the White mountains and when somebody walks them feels like being the master of the nature...the beauty is difficult for me to describe it.. paths, rocks, sky, view of the Cretan sea, pine trees, fir trees spread their freshness all over the nature... and as you walk you can smell the unique perfume of oregano, fliskouni, thymari, malotira some special herbs that exist only in Crete and in no ather places of the word.. during the winter and especcially around Chrismas time our village becomes full of snow .. it" s like a beutiful small village in a post card of Christmas.. it is a wonderful destination for travellers who love the mountains, the nature, the height, the snow, the hike... travellers who prefer to spend their vacation under the sounds of the birds, the flocks of the sheeps.. travellers who dream swimming in a pool built of natural rocks in the mountains..travellers who when it snows they rest at home near the fireplace and watch it falling down.
