"Gorgones" is a recently renovated and fully equipped (Wi-Fi included) two bedroom, one bathroom home. The beds included are one queen-sized bed, two single beds and one sofa bed. It can accommodate up to four adults and a child (to 13 years of age?). There is also a baby cot available. It is a family and business friendly house. All spaces are decorated with the colours and simplicity of the Hellenic island lifestyle, where the theme of the sea and mermaids is shown throughout. Large windows let the Greek sunlight and breeze intrude while creating an atmosphere very welcomed and cozy to all visitors. The front terrace is overlooking the stunning Aegean Sea while the side terrace is shaded by a beautiful grape vine. Located on the hillsides of the village Skalia, our house is about 20m from the natural spring of Panagia, and just a short walk from pristine beaches with crystal-clear waters. A bus stop is also located near the house.
I am a mother of three who loves life, people and nature. Raised in Kalymnos and later lived in Australia. I love Kalymnos for its climate, wild landscapes, crystal clear waters, history, culture and of course for its people who have the most amazing personalities. Hosting gives me the chance to meet people from all over the world, but most of all I love giving these people the chance to really relax, feel at home and live like a local in Kalymnos. Furthermore to experience the magical beauty of our mountains and sea and historical sites.
Pristine beaches, craving crystal-clear waters and the bright radiant Greek sun... Skalia is a small village in the northern part of Kalymnos. The dramatic landscape combined with the breathtaking beauty of the sea is what makes this area really unique. In recent years, the overlooking cliffs and caves have been an attraction to rock climbers and hikers. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing especially at night. In the morning you wake up at the sounds of the waves and cicadas, while the wild goats are always around. at Platanos square, the natural spring of Panagia is providing every local as well as all visitors with excellent quality drinking water. This makes it a great place to meet and socialise with locals. On the way to the sea one will walk through wild herbs like Thyme, Sage and Oregano which give-off amazing aromas. The coastline is just as unique with the craving crystal-clear waters and pebble and/or sand beaches. The curious visitors will surely be rewarded... The closest restaurant is Maria's Restaurant located on Platanos Square. Other restaurants and cafes are located on the nearby villages of Emporios and Arginonta. Small grocery stores are located at Skalia and Emporios.
