This apartment was modern, well appointed, and in a perfect location. It was easy to get to and we found street parking near by. It's right on the edge of the Plaka/shopping area, so lots of things nearby to walk to. The bed was comfortable, there was ample space, and good amenities were provided. The staff was very responsive and helpful. The location here really made the stay great, as it's right near Modernist Coffee (great coffee & cocktails in the evening) and also outside of the plaka, so easy access to the rest of the city for exploring. Would stay here again!

A luxury and contemporary accommodation proposal with a Venetian scent and feel, very close to the heart of Chania, where the new town meets the Venetian Buildings and the Old Harbour. Oniros Residenza Vecchia consists of two suites located at a quiet and picturesque alley at Splantzia Neighbourhood, in an ideal location for one to explore the magic of the old Chania town, as well as the beauty of the new. These 2 luxurious suites are located at the heart of Splantzia, within walking distance of 5 minutes to the city centre and to the old harbour. The Oniros Residenza Vecchia suites will amaze you with the design and aesthetics as well as with the facilities found inside. They feature a communal area with Reception/Concierge, a wine tasting cellar and a sitting lounge. The suites are located at the first and second floor and feature one separate bedroom, spacious living room with kitchenette, jacuzzi and views to the St Nicholas Church and the Turkish Minaret (top floor suite). Service and Concierge include guided Walks & Tours, Breakfast from our menu, Full fridge Service (upon request), Car & Van Rentals, transfers, Massage Therapies and more services.
The Turkish quarter refers to the area encircling the busy Splantzia Square, equally popular to visitors and locals of this city. Officially the square is now named 1821 Square following the Greek Revolution however locals refer to it as Splantzia, a Venetian withstanding name, to describe the neighbourhood which housed the residences of the prominent Turks during the Ottoman occupation. The rich history of the area dates back from the Venetian era when it was named Ponte Dei Viari referring to a bridge connecting the eastern gate of the Kasteli settlement with modern Daskalogianni St. and Splantzia Square. The bridge took the name of an affluent Venetian family who were benefactors of the city in difficult times. The area had a lot of underground waters that is why there are findings of underground Venetian water tanks that could supply the city for 6 whole months. Current St. Nicholas church was originally the temple of the adjacent Monastery occupied by the Order of the Dominican monks, and was built in 1320. After the invasion of the Turks in 1645, the church was converted into a Mosque, named Houghiar Tzamissi – Hünkâr Camisi, by adding a minaret on the south side of the temple. Between the church of Agios Nikolaos and the plane tree in Splantzia there is the Turkish underground fountain surrounded by bars. The tank had such a capacity that it covered the city of Chania for six months. In recent years, the district of Splantzia has been completely reformed and from a poor area with dark alleys it has turned into one of the most popular districts of the city with several quality cafes, taverns and restaurants. We can say that it is an area that managed to marry all the cultures that passed through the wonderful city of Chania.
