Located in Finikia, within a 10-minute walk from the the scenic Oia, the 18th-century Azalea Houses offers elegantly decorated suites overlooking the Aegean Sea and the village. A shared, furnished terrace is available and free WiFi access is provided throughout. The air-conditioned Azalea suites are fitted with dark or light-wooden furnishings, arches and Coco-Mat sleep products. Each unit features a well-equipped kitchenette with dining area, fridge, cooking hobs and a toaster. Facilities also include a flat-screen satellite TV, a CD player, a laptop safe and free toiletries. Breakfast items, such as honey, jams, coffee and bread, are provided in the units and guests can prepare their own breakfast. The owner of the property can arrange in-room massage, hairdresser and manicure/pedicure on request and at extra charge. Boat trips and sightseeing tours can also be provided on request. The house was a traditional winemakers house recently renovated into a luxury residence, with respect of the old architecture style, loved by architects and photographers (and for this reason is often used by film makers). In renovation work, particularly care has been taken to preserve the local traditional cave style, with walls covered in stucco cement, mixed and colored with mud brick. The carefully selected furnishings complement the decor of this old style mansion house. The building is divided into two floors, in two independent houses sharing a large Terrace, overlooking the houses of the village, the vineyards of Oia and the Aegean Sea. Some of private corners of terrace are used for sun bathing, reunions, quiet evenings and romantic dinners.
Finikia village is a secret place ideal for a romantic holiday in Santorini, Hidden from tourist crowds, less than 1Km from the famous Oia and caldera’s cliff Finikia village, is inhabited mostly by locals, and lives still in older times before the tourist rush. Ideal for a romantic holiday in Santorini, Finikia lies on the other side of volcano, facing to the north coast of the island. So there is no view here on the volcanic caldera, but the sea and the islands across of Folegandros, Sikinos, and Ios. Here, you see white houses and horizontal lines, a calm contrast to the scary landscape of the caldera. Vineyards and scattered chapels, each dedicated to a protector saint of villagers and sailors. The top little chapel of Saint Kyriaki, offers a unique and lonely sunset view from Santorini to the rest of Cycladic Islands. Below the houses of this small village, start the road to the vineyards and finally, at 3 kilometers, are famous beaches with fine sand.
