The amenities of the property were excellent and it was in a great location. The small surrounding towns had everything you would need and it was a great place to start exploring Crete from. The family was very welcoming and kind; personally greeting us upon arrival, providing local products for us to enjoy during our stay and their family taverna was one of the best we ate at during our stay in Crete. We cannot wait to come back!

I liked everything! Beautiful villa, pool, quiet place. We also liked that place to sleep is on a different level than a living room so you can spend time there while not waking up somebody downstairs.

Amazing and wonderfull villa, inside very luxurious and modern design, just like taken out of a Magazine. The host was so friendly, and there were Cold Wines, Sodas water and fruits on arrival - and Home made Virgin oil from own farm. The villa is located in a lovely small village with a couple of Tavernas, filled with local people - and not so many tourist. If ytou think this villa looks great on pictures - wait untill you see it for real - AMAZING.

A beautiful villa to stay in with incredible views and everything you could possibly need. It is exceptionally clean. The beds are so comfortable and the pool and terrace are fabulous!! We are a family of four, and we all loved it. It’s definitely a good idea to have a car so that you can explore the island. The village itself is wonderful and the beach and supermarket aren’t far away. The owner met us at the property to check us in and was always available to message if we had any questions, a truly gracious host, thank you Chronis!

We had the most special of holidays staying in Acrothea Villa. It is a gorgeous villa in a stunning location, Kournas which is very much off the beaten track. A beautiful mountainside village - hiring a car is a must. The views are breathtaking and there is a lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy morning coffee on and outdoor dining table to have dinner. The villa is a 200year old traditional stone house with lovely features, modernised to include all appliances and well equipped with everything that you will need (bed linen, towels, cooking utensils, swimming pool, loungers, bbq etc). We loved the local tavernas and the locals were very friendly. It is just under 10mins drive to supermarkets and the beach, and a good base to explore Chania and the beaches along Rethimno. Best of all, Chronis was the most wonderful host, available to help and leaving groceries for us on arrival, home grown cherries and a gift of the family olive oil. We will be back!

We have just returned from a wonderful, relaxing stay at Villa Acrothea. The villa was beautiful, spacious and extremely well equipped with stunning views. On arrival, we were met by our hosts who had generously provided us with some food and wine, which was greatly appreciated. There are some lovely tavernas in the village all within walking distance and there are supermarkets within a five minute drive. There are many, easily accessible sandy beaches within a short drive. Lake Kournas is also a must visit! Thank you Chronis and family for your warm welcome and generous hospitality. We are already planning our next visit!

The property looked exactly like the photos - beautifully restored house - high quality fixtures and fittings, lovely furniture, all the plates and utensils you need, lovely pool and a fantastic view of the sea and mountains. Kournas is a lovely village with some great tavernas and local shops, and the owner was lovely and extremely helpful. We loved our week there and would come back again. Crete is a fantastic place and the house was gorgeous.
