We wanted a great place to stay, but this place is so so much more than that. Everything is perfect and the aesthetics is of the highest of standards. The location, service, quality of breakfast and personal engagement are excellent. Carol and her familiy clearly cares about their place and their visitors. The service, the experience and standards of living are all taken to a whole new level. We are so greatful that we chose to live here during the visit to Edinburgh.

Carole was an outstanding host. She provided recommendations on things to do and see, and restaurant and pub recommendations. We really enjoyed the morning conversations, insightful and engaging. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you for introducing us to your special porridge recipe, what a way to start the day ;) delicious! The entranceway was welcoming and warm, we arrived back one evening and all the candles were lit, it was spectacular! The room was nicely appointed with a comfortable bed, and a great shower, and the entire accommodation was spotless from top to bottom. The view from the top level of this historic townhouse was really something else.

Beautiful room overlooking gardens and city. Delicious breakfast each morning. The owner was friendly and made great suggestions for meals, site seeing , and shopping. We enjoyed talking with her about families and traveling over breakfast. My daughter and I would love to return. The city was wonderful, too!

We loved the very warm welcome and stylish, comfortable rooms with lots of natural light. The hosts were beyond gracious and so kind and helpful; recommendations and directions were superb. Hostess was generous and made sure we had milk alternatives at breakfast which was delicious with rich real coffee, fresh fruit and artisan cheeses. Breakfast table was set beautifully, such a treat with beautiful view. Outstanding location offering easy access to city and Mother Nature just outside the door.

Absolutely everything! The West End Townhouse exceeded our expectations on every level. It was a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh. Our room was lovely, spacious, incredibly comfortable and the furnishings were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. But what really made our stay exceptional was our host, Carole. She and her husband, George, welcomed us into their home like we were family. They could not have been more hospitable and kind. Carole shared her vast knowledge of Edinburgh, from recommendations for restaurants, tours, and  places to explore. Thank you Carole for making our stay in Edinburgh so special.
