Skye Cottage, halfway between Aviemore & Kingussie, enjoys an elevated position in the heart of the Highlands with views from the grounds across the river Spey to the Cairngorm mountains beyond. The cottage features two double bedrooms, a comfortable lounge, a kitchen-diner and a bathroom with power shower. There is free Wifi, a TV, DVD player & CD-player/radio. To the front there is a shared play area and a communal barbecue. Inverness Airport is 44.1 miles from the property. Road & rail access are very easy. This attractive and unusual cottage is part of the Meadowside House group of holiday homes. Part of a historic 'B' listed building, it is located within the Cairngorms National Park and is right next door to the Highland Wildlife Park with its polar bear cub, Scottish wildcats & red squirrels.

A Scotsman by birth, Rory is very keen to share the attractions of his native land with his guests. Skye Cottage, which has been extensively upgraded under his ownership, has been chosen to offer a great opportunity for guests to enjoy the Scottish Highlands. Skye cottage sleeps 4 comfortably, in 2 double bedrooms, with an attractive lounge and a well-equipped kitchen diner incorporating a dishwasher, microwave & fridge besides the conventional oven & hob. Outside there is an open area which is extensively grassed with plenty of room for children to play. There is also an outdoor dining area and a BBQ shelter for all guests opposite the front door of the cottage. Skye Cottage is managed independently of Meadowside House. There is a Reception office on site but the staff there do not have responsibility for Skye Cottage & are not in a position to answer guests enquiries.

The Spey Valley & Cairngorms National Park are a wonderful holiday destinations. The scenery is terrific, with walking, cycling and pony trekking routes through forests, alongside lochs and rivers, and up & down mountains. The local area offers a variety of watersports at Loch Insh and Loch Morlich; there is mountain and quad biking, karting at Aviemore Kart Raceway (with tandem carts for small people); and there are zipwires and aerial walkways for the more adventurous. Cairngorm Gliding Club offers trial flights. Nature lovers, particularly bird watchers, will be delighted by the many local species, not least the Ospreys at Loch Garten and Loch Insh (1 mile). At Skye cottage house martins nest under the eaves! Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Strathspey Steam Railway, the Fun House at Coylumbridge, Spey Valley Cinema, the Highland Folk Museum, and Speyside Distillery are all-weather attractions.
