Sweetcombe Cottage Holidays is a locally based self-catering agency focusing on East Devon. Established over 35 years ago with just a handful of cottages, the company has grown to the point where we now successfully market a wide variety of properties throughout the region. From the start we were determined to build up a reputation for offering only the best of properties. The company has grown, but everyone involved still holds true to the combination of commitment and professionalism that is the foundation of the company's success. Family run to this day, we are still able to offer that personal service which sadly in today's ever increasing pace of life can sorely fall by the wayside.

Beautifully restored Grade II listed semi-detached thatched period cottage dating back to the 16th century. Many character features including exposed beams, some original windows and fireplace have been retained. The cottage has a modern kitchen and two bathrooms. The quality furnishings are comfortable and tasteful with much care and thought taken by the owner. Quietly tucked away with an enclosed south facing garden in the centre of Sidford, a thriving village on the outskirts of Sidmouth. A pretty riverside walk and cycle path runs along the River Sid leading to Sidmouth and the coast approximately 2-mile level walk. Sidford has a Spar supermarket, Bloaters Fish & Chip shop, two good pubs and a very good restaurant and is well positioned for exploring the lovely towns and villages close by. Entrance hall. We have a range of holiday cottages in Sidmouth, with its abundance of independent shops it is well worth a visit, whilst the esplanade overlooks the picturesque and tranquil beach. Towards the western end of the promenade an area of sand is uncovered at low tide, along with rock pools perfect for adventures with the kids. A short walk around the pathway under the red sandstone cliffs you can find Jacobs Ladder which offers a mile of sandy beach at low tide and colourful beach huts. Climb up Jacobs Ladder to find Connaught Gardens, here there is the most wonderful café offering the biggest homemade cakes you have ever seen! Each Sunday evening throughout the summer you can sit and watch the Sidmouth Town Band play. The town and the seafront offer a wide range of activities including Paddleboarding & Kayaking, while quiet serenity can be enjoyed in the town’s gardens and outskirts. More locally in Sidford, there are two pubs within walking distance- The Rising Sun & The Blue Ball. There is a fine dining restaurant called The Salty Monk and also a Spar corner shop for supplies. It is approximately 35minute walk through the Byes park into Sidmouth.
