Foreman's cottage is a pet friendly property but humans are also made to feel very welcome. We are close to amazing beaches and the wonderful Northumberland countryside is just a couple of minutes from the front door. The area is just full of pet friendly pubs so we can all go out together. The Keel Row is a pub and restaurant where Sharon, the manager, won an award for being pet (and child) friendly - she always has treats on the bar and even shared her bacon sandwich with me once. Tynemouth and Whitley Bay have wonderful beaches, shops and places of historical interest. North Shields fish quay is 15 minutes drive and here you can watch the fishing boats unload their catch. The fish quay has restaurants and bars of all types, ideal for sitting out on a sunny day and watching the boats on the river. In Northumberland the list of places to visit is endless but we should include Alnwick Castle of Harry Potter fame, Craster famous for "Craster Kippers", the smoke houses are still in operation with an onsite retail shop - then visit the Jolly Sailor pub for an unforgettable bowl of crab soup, speciality of the house.
