Alford is a fantastic small town of roughly 3500 people. They are warm and very welcoming. Alford was mentioned in the Magna Carta when 13 people lived here. Things of interest in Alford. The August Bank Holiday Fair has so many attractions it has got to be one of the best in Britain. Cadwell Park Motorbikes is on regular. There have been quite a few people of interest that have come from here. Just one or two to mention Captain John Smith. Yes, Captain John Smith. From Disney's Pocahontas. No, he was not a cartoon first. He lived just down the road at Willoughby. He went to Queen Elizabeth 1st School in St. Wilfred's Church Alford.
