Maison Zola is a french 'maison de maître' built around the 1750s. Previously used as a family home, the grand townhouse has been transformed into a modern yet authentic Bed and Breakfast. Although located in the town centre, Maison Zola's private back garden offers a peaceful retreat under the shade of a giant Redwood tree. We offer three double rooms, one twin room, and a grand family suite (sleeps five), all with ensuite bathrooms. Parking is free in the public parking spaces on the road in front of the house or at a 200m distance (walking) 'place marche' / marketplace. There is no private parking available on the property however, it is possible to park in front of the house gate and unload luggage. Important: The DELUXE QUEEN ROOM & TWIN ROOM face the road. Due to the central location of the house, noise from the road and surrounding neighbourhood can be heard during more busy evenings such as Fridays and Saturdays.

The town has a local market every Wednesday and Saturday, which is just around the corner from Maison Zola. An old 11th century Abbey - Abbey Noirlac - offers some cultural experience of the region, Lake Virlay is ideal for a longer stroll, and the biggest Oakforest of Europe the Foret Troncais is under 30 min drive away. Generally, the Cher region offers ample opportunity to bike, hike or even canoe.
