Lavender House is a lovely traditional stone house located in the Anjou region of the Loire Valley. It is set in a peaceful location surrounded by beautiful vineyards and countryside. The accommodation comprises of a large open plan dining kitchen and sitting room with a log burner. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms (1 double and 2 twin), a shower room and additional wc. Externally there is a private enclosed garden with decked pergola, small games barn and private parking. Pets are very welcome but we ask that they are not left unattended (unless agreed prior to arrival).
We moved to France in October 2018 after deciding that it was time for a new challenge. We spent the first 6 months updating Rose Barn with the aim of providing guests with a luxurious self catering retreat in a lovely countryside setting. Once complete we then moved on to our second property, Lavender House which was completed in May 2021. It is important to us that guests have a peaceful and relaxing stay and look forward to sharing our knowledge of the local area. We will always aim to welcome guests on arrival in order to explain about the property and the surrounding area. As this is also our home, we will always to be around and on hand to answer any questions you may have. Please note that our own house shares the grounds with Rose Barn, our second gite. If you do need to come and find us please respect the privacy of our other guests.
Lavender House is situated in a small hamlet and is surrounded by vineyards and countryside. Cersay is 2kms away with a small supermarket, vineyard, pharmacy, hairdressers and church. Within 30 minutes there are a number of picturesque towns and villages with a wide range of amenities. There is a huge amount to see and do in the region including 2 of France's top tourist attractions, Puy du Fou and Futuroscope as well as the stunning beaches and islands at the coast around 90 minutes away. There is no immediate access to public transport, however there are train stations in Saumur and Montreuil Bellay. The region is well served by airports especially in the summer months. These include Poitiers, Nantes, Limoges, Tours and La Rochelle. Lavender House has its own dedicated parking area with space for 2 - 4 cars.
