A little bit about our place... Honfleur's old “venelles” - tiny pedestrian streets - will make you feel like an explorer discovering hidden architectural jewels of this uniquely preserved Normand treasure. You can expect such discovery when accessing our place, as the famous Greniers a Sel (antique salt stores built in 1670 with stones from the city walls) share one of their majestic walls with the property. Could our location be any more central? Hardly, as it is at the very heart of Honfleur’s historic centre. Our street “rue de la Ville” was formerly known as “rue du Roy” (King’s street), the main street of Honfleur’s centre “l’Enclos”. It was protected from ground invasions by trenches (“fossés” in French), hence the “Cours des Fosses” 44m away - now the start of the weekly Saturday street market. Each of our fully-equipped and tastefully decorated apartments have their own theme and will undoubtedly provide a warm homely feeling. So your accommodation will remain part of the unforgettable memories you will keep from your cosy stay in Honfleur. So look no further, you just found yourself the ideal home-away-from-home for a memorable escapade in this charming little harbor

We are passionate about our lovely Normandy, its beauty, architecture, heritage ... and yes local cheese, cider, tarte normande, teurgoule, and Calvados among other delicacies. We are also in love with Honfleur and our property (erected in 1839) which we fully renovated in late 2019 with the intention to welcome you, hopefully many times in the future. So we look very much forward to having you spend valuable time at La Venelle des Greniers a Sel.

And a few tips on our lovely neighbourhood Le Vieux Honfleur (=Old Honfleur)… La Venelle des Greniers a Sel is… well, next to Greniers a Sel, at a 2 mn slooow-pace walk from Honfleur's famous Old Harbour (“Vieux Bassin”). It is equidistant (3 mn) from from both the Museum of Ethnography and the stunning gothic-style Saint-Leonard Church. And going to the Lieutenancy will take you 3 mn, with an extra 2 mn to reach the splendid Eglise Sainte Catherine. Your future Honfleur home is also surrounded by some of the best restaurants (eg. L’Absinthe, L’Atelier, or the Relais des cyclists, to name a few offering very different experiences), art galleries (eg. Galerie Chay (1mn), shops (including the souvenir shop “Le bateau-bouteille” on the ground-floor of our building), and cafes… but our little heaven is also as quiet as it gets. Enjoy a very pleasant stay, fall in love with Honfleur, and hopefully come back visit us again soon.
